Gender Reveal!

I took off work yesterday and Kayla and I went to Russellville to help Kristin get ready for her “Gender Reveal Party”!

Kristin is 19 weeks and she had a doctors appointment a 10 to determine the sex.  Kayla and I arrived in town at about 11:30 and we met her at the bakery.  The ultrasound tech sealed the results of the test in an envelope and Kristin delivered to The Cake Place, her local bakery.  She had made arrangements with them earlier and had ordered 50 cupcakes.  They were going to fill them with either pink or blue filling, depending on what was in that envelope.  IMG_6936

Then we headed to lunch at McAllister’s.  LOVE their ice tea.  And then it was a mad dash to Wal-Mart to finish buying groceries for party, the dollar store for balloons, and Hobby Lobby for decorations.  It was a very busy afternoon.  Then back to the church to get everything put together.  I loved how it all came together.   IMG_6947IMG_6948

Geez!

I am just so upset with myself! I am never going to get caught up on this blog and I keep missing everyday opportunities so I just have to move forward. This is going to be a long post!

Goodbye Summer and Hello Fall! I love this cooler weather! And football! And I have discovered Pinterest; totally addicting.

Dates of things that I can remember that I have missed blogging about . . .

June 6 – My Daddy turned 70! Wow, so blessed to have him with us still.DSCN4582

June 17 – Audrey was released from the NICU and we got to bring her gone! Eight weeks old today and home! So Blessed!IMG_5873

Vacation the week of June 20 thru June 24

Friday July 1, Audrey was admitted back into the hospital. She wasn’t eating or acting like herself. She stayed overnight and was released Saturday afternoon late. It turned out to be her phenobarbital dosage that she had outgrown.

July 3rd – we found out that Kristin and Brandon are expecting! But I can’t tell anyone. Not until her doctor’s appointment later this month. They made a video of pictures from their Hawaii trip and at the end of it had pictures and slides to “tell'” us. Too cute!Hawaii 103

July 10th – Audrey’s original due date. IMG_6357

July and August were really really rough. Audrey would just not sleep at night. Peggy and I would split the weekend and keep her so Kayla could get some rest. And there were a handful of nights during the week that I would go stay at her house, again so she could sleep. Mid July, Audrey seemed to be getting worse. She would choke at every feeding. Kayla finally changed the type of bottle she was using and she did so much better.

August 18th – Kristin’s first ultrasound.

First Ultrasound

August 27 – Brian moved out. We are truly Empty Nesters. I have such mixed emotions about this. No doubt, Richard and I have talked about this day for years. I am just sad because that chapter of my life is over. For all of those things that I wish I would have done when my children were small, the time is gone and can never be gotten back.

Whew, I am caught up. Hope to NEVER do that again!
