Bad Weather Buzz

Wow! There is such a buzz about the forecasted bad weather we are supposed to be getting. We are under a Winter Storm Warning from midnight tonight until midnight tomorrow night; freezing rain, sleet and finally snow. . . anywhere from three to 10 inches, depends on who you listen to. According to FB posts, there have more lines open at Wal-Mart and more checkers these past couple of days in order to handle the storm traffic than before Christmas.

Brian is in Memphis; drove over there today and has to drive back Wednesday night. Kristin flew to Orlando today, she is due to come back on Friday. Dear Lord, please protect my family.

I had to start working on our taxes tonight after working all day, grrrrrrr. That puts me in such a foul mood. I hate doing that stuff. Richard made our tax appointment today and I have to have everything done in nine days! YIKES.

Hopefully, I will have snow pictures to post soon.

Spring in Winter

Yesterday was a beautiful day in the middle of winter. The sun was shining and it was 71 degrees or so, depending on whose thermometer you were reading or what radio station you were listening to. Either way, it was gorgeous and a very nice needed touch of what we have to look forward to. I have said it once but will say it again, I feel so blessed living in an area where we get to experience four distinct seasons.

Kayla took advantage of the warm weather to do some painting so that meant I got to spend the day with Drew. And we spent a big part of that outside. Here are a couple of pictures that I really liked. He loves to wear his sunglasses. Makes him look like a cool kid. And he got to ride the tractor with Grandpa Richard and he and I rode the 4-wheeler, a lot.

Poor Baby!

Drew got his 12 month immunization shots yesterday. A TOTAL OF FIVE (5) SHOTS!!!! Poor thing. He had band-aids everywhere. However, Kayla said he was so good yesterday afternoon.

I stopped by on my way home to see him. He had just woke up from a nap and was so snuggly. He just laid his head on my shoulder for the longest time and I was so happy to just sit and hold him.

Kayla had made a pot of stew and it was supper time for Drew. She gave him a carrot and in my attempt to try and get him to eat, I said "yummmm". So then he kept trying to feed me his carrot! Too cute! When he finally woke up, it looks like he enjoyed his stew.
Drew, your Nana loves you so much!

First Snow Experience

I got to keep Drew today while Kayla had to work. After his nap and lunch we went to have some fun in the snow before it all melted. And it was melting fast today. I don't think he knew what to do. He just wasn't sure what that white stuff was.
I am so thankful that I get to share in these moments with Drew.

TGIF!

So ready for this weekend. What a week. We got a little bit of snow yesterday. Enough that I had to ride to work with Brian. The roads were really bad yesterday morning and it was snowing so hard, it was, however; beautiful! I like riding with Brian because I make myself leave at 5:00. I snapped this picture when we got home yesterday. We only got about 4 inches and it is mostly ice now. The low last night was 9 degrees; the high today was supposed to be 32.

1-11-11

Don't really have anything to post about tonight. I just thought the title was neat and didn't want to miss this day!

We had our first snowfall of any accumulation on Sunday night. I rode to work with Brian yesterday but was able to drive today. Area schools were canceled the past couple of days. It has been so cold and is supposed to get colder, it is currently 14 degrees!

Mama's Helper

First of all, here is a picture I took on January 1st and forgot to post. Man, it was bright outside and cold!
Now for Mama's helper . . . . Kristin came home this weekend; she had an appointment with Kayla to get a color and cut. It was my job to watch Drew at the shop. When we got there he went straight for the broom and PULLED it around everywhere for the longest time.
After the hair appointment, we went back to Kayla's house as Kristin hadn't got to see it yet. This is Drew's attempt at saying C H E E S E. I think he was getting a little irritated at a camera being pointed at him. Still so cute though!

Then I took my girls to lunch, we went to Napilitos Grill! Very good lunch and we had a good time.

New Home

I finally got to take a few pictures of the outside of Kayla and Chase’s new home. Today marks one week for them. So when they moved in little Drew was 15 months old and Kayla was 13 weeks pregnant.

I hope to get some more pictures soon. She is busy painting and trying to get things put together. She has painted the living room and the dining room so far. Her bedroom is next.

Windows Live Writer

Yay, Kristin is came home this weekend. I was asking her about the functionality of my blog and telling her what a horrible time I have uploading photos. She told me about Windows Live Writer. So I downloaded it and am getting ready to test it.

These pictures are ones that a professional photographer took of Drew at one year old.

13 weeks

Kayla has been feeling the baby move for about two weeks now! What a relief after the scare we had a few weeks ago. She has a doctors appointment on Monday of next week. I hope and pray all is well.

1.1.11

Happy New Year! Goodbye 2010; Hello 2011!

This past year. . . . . . .
We celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary on a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean.
Made a trip to Texas in February to pick up a small Kubota tractor from Mac, Richard's cousin.
Obviously celebrated a year of "firsts" with Drew. . . Easter, 4th of July, walking and we celebrated his 1st birthday with a party at our house.
Took a fall vacation to the Smoky Mountains.
Kristin started her Masters program through ASU.
Brian started working at Ramsey Motor Company in Harrison as a Diesel Mechanic.
Richard bought a new (new to us) Challenger Tractor.
We learned we are expecting grandchild #2!
Kayla and Chase sold their first home in November and moved in with us.

Kayla and Chase moved out today. It is so quite at my house. I have such mixed feelings.
I am however, so happy for them. I know they need to get settled and back to a normal routine. I tried to go help her today, all she wanted me to do was put her kitchen together. I got the cabinets washed out and part of the dishes put up but then I needed to being little Drew home. He was hungry and tired. I hope to finally get some pictures tomorrow and get some posted. She actually got the living room painted today and it really looks good. She has such a talent, she will have their new home looking fabulous in no time, as Kristin said.
