New Carpet

Just love this picture . . . .Drew is checking out our new carpet!
New carpet was installed on Tuesday. By midnight Monday night, we finally had all of the furniture moved out of the living room and master bedroom. I love the room with out all of the clutter, therefore we have not moved everything back in yet. Drew just didn't know what to think. He took off crawling everywhere.

God's Artwork

Wow, another beautiful evening! It stormed a little bit this early evening and we got a good rain. After things settled down there was a rainbow right in front of the house. You could actually see both ends of it and follow it all the way around. I was out on the front porch taking pictures of it and Richard hollered at me to look out the back. So I ran around back and snapped this picture. I wish I had been a little earlier and been in a better spot. But it was gorgeous outside, such a bright orange!

I have had a wonderful Saturday. Kayla called this morning and wanted to know if I wanted to go to Springfield with her. She needed to go to State Beauty Supply. I rode along. We ate lunch at the Olive Garden and little Drew was so good. He really is such a good baby. She has wanted to start scrapbooking so we stopped at Scrapbook Generations and Hobby Lobby. We bought some paper and started on it as soon as we got home.

Quite Time

Finally it's Friday. I have waited for Friday since Monday! This has been a hard week. Brian took Hannah out tonight. Richard hasn't made it home yet. We are going to go to Branson after while and eat supper.

My house is so quite. I remember when I longed for some quite time or just an hour or so by myself. With three small children those times were very rare. And now there are so many things I miss. . . . . .

I miss our supper meals together.
I miss softball and basketball games.
I miss just talking to my girls.
I miss hearing about their days.
I miss hearing "Mom"
In a weird way, I miss the busyness of having kids in the house.

I can't wait until Drew is running around here and has some brothers or sisters or cousins to join him!

Summer Day

Here is a picture of my Mom and Dad's hay meadow. This is from their back yard. Again, it is so pretty.
Here is Richard and my dad, discussing things.
That is a good looking bale of hay! Brian loves this job!
And here are a couple of pictures of the sunset tonight! It was an amazing beautiful evening. It rained a little bit when I got home , then cleared off and was, again, beautiful.

Sick

I am sick and have been for the past couple of days. Really bad sore throat, now a stuffy and runny nose, how can that be! Boo :(

I so wish I had daily updates to post about Drew. And pictures of just everyday stuff. I really wanted this to be about his first year of life. Oh well, doing the best I can.

Richard and Brian started cutting dad's hay yesterday. They have a lot of hay down right now. Richard and I went down there this afternoon when I got home for work. My dad has such a pretty place. He has poured his life into that farm and it shows. It is beautiful! I will post pictures later.

Lazy Saturday

I had so much fun with this precious little guy again today. 8.5 months old. Kayla came out at about 1:00 and left at about 7:00. Drew has 6 teeth now! Four top teeth have popped out in just the past week and a half. Poor thing, no wonder he hasn't felt good. He learned how to really drink out of his sippie cup today. His momma gave him some sweet tea! He loved it; and banana pudding.

My Poppa

Yesterday, June 6, was my daddy's birthday. He is 69 years old. I made him some banana pudding and gave his two Wal-Mart gift cards, one for his birthday and the other for Father's day, which is next weekend. He wants a new gas grill and he can use that money to go towards it.
Wow, where has time gone. 69 years old just doesn't seem possible. You know how your parents get to a certain age and that age just sticks in your mind? I always see them in their early 40's. I don't know why that age sticks with me, but Mom is 43 and Dad is 45. I think my father has always been a very good looking man. He is always very well groomed. I remember him talking when I was younger that no matter how poor a person was, a bar of soap and water was very easy to come by and you should always keep yourself clean.

It is just very difficult for me to see and realize that my parents are getting "old" and can't do what they used to be able to do. I so wish I had more time to spend with them and I wish they felt good enough to do some other things. I guess I need to make that more of a priority. I call frequently but don't go visit near often enough. I will do better, starting today!

Tidbits

It's Wednesday and I love getting these pictures from Kayla. Chase was on his way to Bobbi's with Drew. . . they were walking to Bobbi's. Chase has started a different shift at FedEx and doesn't got to work until 1 pm now. He and Drew will get to spend the mornings together. They occasionally text random pictures to me and I LOVE it!
Kristin called me this afternoon. She only has one more day of school this year. She has her room packed up and is ready for it to be over.
