First of all, I had a wonderful birthday this past Thursday! My co-workers surprised me with a luncheon. Richard McBee brought his grill from home and grilled burgers and hot dogs. That was accompanied by wonderful deserts, beautiful flowers, balloons, and WII games for participation and entertainment. Kayla brought Drew by to see me which was the best gift ever. I put him down on the floor at work and he crawled for the first time of any distance of course. He loved playing with the balloons as you can see in the picture.
The girls at work gave me a coupon for a pedi! That is very much needed right now and then some extra money. Ann gave me beautiful satchel/laptop case. Mom gave me some money to get a couple of more place settings of the fiesta ware I am trying to collect. In-laws gave me a Wal-Mart gift card. I have already spent it; I needed some bath towels really bad. Richard took me to Olive Garden that night and it was wonderful. I have such a sweet husband. He hates Italian food and had never been there before! He also order our new carpet on Thursday. Can't wait to get that installed. So missed seeing Kristin. And I had over 70 birthday wishes from friends on Facebook. I truly am so blessed. TYJ!

Then on to the Memorial Day holiday. Kayla had to work yesterday, Saturday, so I got to keep Drew. As I stated above he is officially crawling now AND pulling up on things. He can pull completely up to a standing position. . . . there is no stopping him now. He has two bottom teeth, one upper front tooth, and about three other nubs that are fixing to pop thru. No wonder the little guy had been feeling a little rough. He is eating food so good. He had sweet potatoes and a fruit for lunch. Tried to feed him peas, that didn't go over very well. Of course that was my fault because the peas came AFTER the fruit. Duh, Nana. Anyway, of course we had to have a photo shoot. This was for his 8 month old pictures. I cannot believe he is 8 months old today.

There is no posing right now at this age. You just have to be quick with the shutter button an get what you can. But he is so photogenic.
Aunt Kay and Uncle Mike are in from CA. Uncle John and Aunt Lillian are in from TX along with Sherry and Nathan and their girls. Misty also brought her boyfriend, Ben. I hope to get some good picture of the family a little later today. Shonna is cooking supper for everyone tonight.

What a beautiful spring this has been! Cool weather, rain, some sunshine, today was no exception. This past week has been full of thunderstorms, tornado warnings, and rain. I am sitting in my living room looking out my bay window and it is just beautiful. Richard and I just got back from checking the cows; made our usual loop on the farm. I am just trying to soak it all in. I am so blessed to live in such a beautiful place.

Kristin came "home" this weekend. it was so good to have her here. Didn't get to really do anything with her but just good to have her around. I just got through reading her blog, she is such a blessing to me. So light hearted and fun!

Kayla and Chase have decided to put their house on the market, therefore, needed to get some things done this weekend like painting. So I got to keep little Drew. Kept him all day Saturday and then overnight Saturday night! Since Kristin was here she got to spend some time with him. Drew now dances (or wiggles) to music; music of any kind. He is so funny to watch. I got to give him his bath on Saturday morning, here are some pictures of that event.

Drew is fixing to take off and start crawling any day. He gets up on his knees and just rocks back and forth. Hasn't quite figured out yet how to work those knees. And he has an upper front tooth in, finally! That one was tough.
Richard bought a different (new to him) hay baler this week. It is a John Deere and is a net wrap baler. Brian is SOOOOO excited to start baling hay. He is counting down the hours and minutes (if the weather man's forecast hold true) as to when he gets to start.
This past week was a really tough week at work. Glad it is over and looking forward to this one being better.
Until next time.

Mother's Day Weekend

Before I get to Mother's Day weekend, I need to say that Brian finished his first semester of class on Friday, May 7th. I am so proud of him and he has already registered for next semester!

Now for this weekend, Kayla and I went to buy flowers on Saturday. For Mother's Day, Kayla planted four containers of flowers for me for my front porch. They are so pretty. Just hope I can keep them alive. Kristin didn't get to come up this weekend, another Mother's day without her. She sent me an iTunes gift card! That was awesome. I have been writing down the names of songs I want to download and now I can. Brian bought me a bouquet of flowers and a card. Just wish I could have all of my children here for special occasions and I have to learn to accept that just isn't going to happen all of the time. Seems like it is happening more and more though.

Uncle Ross and Aunt Carolyn are in from California. We all had dinner at Shonna and Wes' Sunday after church. Everyone was there except Kristin and Brandon and Matt and Lindsey. Grandma Roberts was even there. Nice to have everyone together to just visit. After lunch, Richard and I went to visit my mom and dad. That is what Sunday's used to be and I wish still were; just a day of visiting with family.

Drew gets up on his knees now and just "rocks" back and forth now. He will be taking off before to much longer.
Actually, I have four containers!

Wednesday, April 28th . . . .Kayla is absolutely exhausted since Drew has been sick and is not sleeping. I kept him on Wednesday night for them. I so remember those days when you are trying to get up and go to work the next day after being up all night. Kayla and Chase both needed some sleep. Actually Drew was pretty good. Only up twice. I had forgotten how hard it was to get up and try to get ready for work with a little one. But we made it. I took him to his momma on my way to work and I stopped at McDonald's and took Kayla some breakfast. Hope that started her day off better.
Monday, April 26th, Drew was sick. Low grade fever, not eating well, not sleeping, and so fussy. Kayla took him to see Dr. Corey. They drew blood, hence the band-aid on his little finger. His white cell count was elevated so he prescribed an antibiotic. I stopped by on my way home to check on them and snapped these pictures.
